Hi Phil , Brabu, Eoin and Hi All ,

I am back with a lot of pictures , almost in b&w (5 rolls) , only 1 roll and half another roll in color. Weather is not very sunny , so my choice of b&w but I take time to compose many castle pictures on tripod : Chambord , Blois castles are great and grandiose !

I'll dev. to morrow and will post for you . Leicaflex SL and Leica R4S as backup , MP-M7 as principal cameras. Some digital pictures just for comparison (my spirit of searcher is back :))... and for Gary I used R 35 mm on my Leicaflex  :) Not need to change film with 4 analog cameras :)

This thread is really a good thread , 6 pages of beautiful photos during only 3 days :) Thanks gentlemen :)

Best

Henry

Henry, you are my best coaxer for shooting film and participate this thread, thanks a lot.

More hounds on a very wet and dull day, Fuji GW690III, Foma 400

They have caught their quarry146-XL.jpg

Unfortunately I've used up my day's quota of LUF 'thanks', again (and it's 5:30 in the morning...). The Foma 400 seems to be working well for you, Gary. The damp greys come across very well in this shot. It looks like the hounds aren't too concerned about meteorological vagaries.

Me and the dogs were like drowned rats and my wife lost the remote for the Nilox video camera I bought her and she has only used it twice

Autochrome. Technically not film. But, if you have not seen this, you simply must.

Henry, it features red as you may have never seen it.

Hello Everybody,

What I am writing about is that: It appears to me that these are more recent photos, which may well be Autochromes, which were taken with more modern equipment & then were altered to make them appear as if they were made at an earlier time.

Not necessarily done to be deceptive, but, rather, possibly just to see if good "Period looking" copies could be made.

Taking into account that the clothing, most of the backgrounds & the scenery are appropriate to the Period.

But, everything "floats" as if they could have been assembled at an appropriate either Period, or No Period (ie: Beach with Ocean as a backdrop.) setting.

Some things do not seem "quite correct"

Example: It appears that the lens used to make the photo was more highly corrected than most portrait lenses would have been at the time in question. It appears to have better contrast & better other types of correction than might have been expected at the time. It appears to then have SOME of that better correction masked over in some, but not all, of the photo.

Example:  In the 5th picture going down, in the garden, there appears to be some sort of transparent "mask" on the left side that goes part way down & then goes to the viewer's left a little & then continues down.

Also, there might be some anomalies.

Example: The 6th picture going down, in the garden with the pipe behind her head: I don't think that that type of pipe would have been secured the way it is at that time period. I think that type of securing began to be used about 10 or 20 years after the photo was said to have been made.

I thought, given the wide range of expertise that many people who participate in this Thread, that it might be Academically Interesting to investigate the possibility that my perception might have some viability. It might be interesting for some people to look at this series of photos with a critical eye & to see what results appear.

Best Regards,

Michael

Speaking with Wayne just now, I was reminded of this picture I took of a fly-by by an FA-18 Super Hornet at the 2015 Australian Formula One Grand Prix. It was so incredibly fast and so loud and practically right above me, that I almost fell over taking this picture:
