A great combo camera and lens giving a well balanced color without correction

because it's a real color , not aproximate

The 6x9 Royer and Super Icon C I have been recently shooting do produce fantastic negatives; but, among other things, the use of them has done nothing but elevate my appreciation for combination of convenience and quality represented in Leica rangefinder cameras.....Both M and Barnack. The same can be said of the 35mm Zeiss rangefinders I have been using: while I have been enjoying the variety provided by the Zeiss cameras, the Leicas are just quicker and more convenient in use. It is easy to see why the Leica model survived while Zeiss effort faded into history. It must have been very frustrating at Zeiss, to realize, no matter what they did, the basic concept of a Leica rangefinder was just better.

Wayne,

I tend to disagree. Looking at the Contax II and III, The convenience of the rangefinder, the speed of the lens exchange and the larger, faster, and to some extend better optical quality of available lenses would have many people think twice before chosing a leica. That only changed with the M3.

Hi, Henry.

The hazy areas were from rain drops on the front element (that's what happens when you point a camera skywards when it's raining - I should be wise to that by now).

The girls are all grown up now, and both have boyfriends. The elder one has Downs Syndrome, and has grown into a wonderful young lady, who is good fun to be around...

The younger one is off to Europe soon to race bikes for 6 months (and will have at least one film camera with her). If she doesn't get any good shots, Immigration have been instructed not to let her back into Australia...

The model of the camera is the Canon New F1. It followed the F1N. I've owned it (and the FD 17mm lens) since new back in the 1980's.

Thanks for posting these, Eoin. We're going to be there in a few days and have been following the weather report. Seems to have been really rainy.

At this time of year, it will generally rain in the late afternoon / early evening, but at least it's warm. I live across the other side of the park from the Petronas Twin Towers.

I went to the UK National Track Cycling Championships recently.  It was the first time I'd used both the Leica for sport and Ilford Delta 3200 (Deved in Xtol).  Really happy with the results and surprised at how good the Leica is for sport based pictures.  Here's 2 images and a link for the whole album https://flic.kr/s/aHskR9WUXR

Look forward to the warm weather after the last few weeks of below zero temperatures here in Haute-Savoie.
