Mute-on Posted January 17, 2017 Share #26224 Posted January 17, 2017 Thank you Paul, for a very unexpected comment I scanned them with my Epson V700 using Epson Scan on 'auto everything', imported into LR, clicked on 'auto tone', played about with a few sliders and well, that is about it apart from lots of cloning/healing of dust and other blemishes. Whilst I am here, here is a second one from Lake Lucerne taken during an evening stroll in 1984. That is a spectacular photo. The red in the jumper repeating in the boat just makes it. Any idea what the film is? Kodachrome ? Cheers J

Suede Posted January 17, 2017 Share #26228 Posted January 17, 2017 Les Landes, a department in south-west France, supports large pine plantations. I'm not sure how the colours came out like they did here. The whole roll rendered a little freakish... comical...saturated...painterly...? I have pulled back the saturation in Photos editor. stray cat Posted January 17, 2017 Share #26229 Posted January 17, 2017 Thanks Phil for your first comment and advice. This picture is amazing because you arrive to capture 4 persons at the right moment walking , with the first walker at left , expressing a strange look Well done Best Henry Like this picture very much - geart shot ! I like this shot a lot, Phil. Thank you Henry, EoinC and SilentShutter for your very generous comments, and to everyone who was kind enough to give my photograph a "thanks". This is a picture I was very thrilled to get. I saw the possibility of the man with the conduit walking into the right spot, and I sensed there were some other interesting elements in the picture (like the "Dead End" sign) so I was hoping I'd be able to get all the camera things right and it up to my eye in time. Sometimes - I'm sure we all know - this doesn't work out as you'd hope. this time it did and I was very happy because I knew I got the shot. Is there any better feeling than that? stray cat Posted January 17, 2017 Share #26230 Posted January 17, 2017 Suede - were you using colour negative film in the plantations picture and overexposing it? I really like the effect of that - you do tend to get better saturation, and the effect is very pleasing, as in your photo.
SilentShutter Posted January 17, 2017 Share #26231 Posted January 17, 2017 Agfa made a film called Agfa Ultra 50 which overexposed looked the same way !

Kodachrome ? Cheers J Thank you Unfortunately the only way to tell would be to prise open a number of the anonymous grey plastic slide cases and hope to spot the name on the film rebate. Back then I was not (unlike now) in the habit of recording such details. Edited January 17, 2017 by Keith (M)
