Adam and Marc I recognize that sometimes color is not easy to work.

That's why I think sensor for color must evolve because it isn't satisfying at this stage

and in waiting for that , film has done its job  :)

Henry

Very often I have some problems when I use the Portra in an darker/black environment. In these cases, I definitvely prefer b/w

best wishes

Marc

Bravo Xenia it's great like me always MP with b&w and M7 with color

Hi Henry,

Actually, I prefer b&w...

In the early eighties after two years education, I made my own lab in a former kitchen and had a great time wetprinting. Even had an exhibition. But before that I started out as an artist, mostly etchings, litho, woodcuts. Then I got allergic. First all the chemicals needed for my graphic work gave me asthma. And finally, even wetprinting had to stop. But I had to live and make money somehow. In 82 I had bought my first SWC/M and after two weeks in Morocco, I wrote an article accompagnied by three photos and showed up at a travelmagazine. Since then I have been working as a nature- and travelphotographer. My b&w photos won me prices, but my colourphotos put bread on the table.

All the best,

Xenia

Hi Adam,

The elephant - yes, she was very close, so close that I had to lean back to get the shot...

I like your SWC photos too :) The SWC is the camera I always return too, not too heavy, easy to handhold and a wizard on a tripod with groundglass. Fast or slow, as you wish! Recently, I have used my 903 with the CFV50, which is ok, but either fast nor lightweight. I prefer the SWC with 2 filmbacks, one for Velvia, one for b&w.

Best wishes,

Xenia

Thank you, Xenia (and sincere apologies for misspelling your name in my post from yesterday, by the time I realized it was too late to correct!)

I, too, carry to film backs with me and find the whole package quite nifty and surprisingly versatile.

I LOVE this waterfall photo.

It is a dream of mine to visit Morocco, which is where both of my wife's parents were born and raised.  So much to see and such a rich culture.  Thanks for sharing and I look forward to seeing more

Xenia allergia is a real problem  , sometimes may be it comes from your litho or woodcuts (with "microscopic" fungi like aspergillus sp. and other possible inside)  and for the lab I think, you must have a good ventilation system ...

Some Fuji Superia 100 pictures now ... :)

Dirk it's lighter M camera than Rollei no ?

You're right to keep your M

Regards

Henry

yes a bit, but it depends which lens you have mounted on the MP, with the 50mm Summilux pre-asph it is about 1 kg compare to the Rolleiflex which is 1.2kg.

@ Henry

Your "devinette" was the motive to ask these ladies, if they knew Winston Churchill. Both with university entrance-diploma, talented and intelligent, denied :( .
