MT0227 Posted October 9, 2016 Share #22244 Posted October 9, 2016 Another great aerial shot Gary! A place I recall fondly, as kids we spent virtually every free day here, dad built a bach (modest holiday home) near the top of the inlet, and we boated, swam, fished, and generally whiled the days away, a great childhood. Not diminishing your obvious skill of course Adam, not a bit. Gary Thanks, Gary. I'm telling you, with the focusing screen and prism finder, it is fool-proof I like the Ektar here Adam. Works well for me! Thanks, Frank. For me, the Ektar performed as expected with the reds. I'll show a comparison tomorrow that may buttress this even further. EoinC Posted October 9, 2016 Share #22252 Posted October 9, 2016 More from the Sepik. We all got malaria there, and I managed to trump the others by getting dengue fever as well. These shots were on the high ground before I got to the swamp (where I didn't take my camera). Once I got into the sago swamp proper (which was about 40km of sago floating on stagnant water), the mosquitoes were just a black cloud permanently enveloping us. I could last about 5 minutes at a time before their being in my ears, nose, and mouth would drive me to jump into the black water for relief. As soon as I surfaced, they'd be back for more. It was the worst place I've ever been, and made the PNG jungle look like a suburban park by comparison... david strachan Posted October 9, 2016 Share #22256 Posted October 9, 2016 (edited) Fabulous stuff Eoin...just can't get enough of it. I've explored many of the places you've shown...about the same time. From the Kimberley's to the Sepik, and my adored deserts... I'm a yachtsman too. So more pics please you've captured something which will never be the same. I just wish I was back there, is how your pictures make me feel. And so nicely done on film (of course.. )...it adds drama and "olde worldly". all best ... Edited October 9, 2016 by david strachan

H001 by Eoin Christie, on Flickr Eoin, these (8 photos ending in the above) are really spectacular. I can feel the age of the photos just by their look. Maybe it's the colours, or the haircuts, I don't know. It is undeniable, however, and takes me back to that time in my life just by seeing the images. Just lovely.
