HP5+ on a very smoky morning I really like this "fog over the city" I also shot fog with HP5 , really well reproduced by grain of film versus smoothing pixels with my M8 Best Henry

ansteyp Posted July 18, 2016 Share #18693 Posted July 18, 2016 Thanks, Henry. I discovered this thread only recently. It's made me happy, for I can now upload medium format images as well. Pity we cannot avoid digitisation, scanning and perhaps some post-processing. About the latter, one of my early uploads here (post #18645) was completely untouched, out of the negative. It's a bit low contrast--the exposure was with incident light--but a little of PS makes it more interesting, admittedly. Untouched: SCAN_-4a.jpg Retouched: SCAN_-003_ba.jpg Perhaps, I'm too occupied with such matters; here's another post of mine (having nothing to do with film, though) of similar anxiety: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/262589-previsualisation-sic/. Paul Thanks, Paul. Good observation, but I prefer the more subtle atmosphere of your original.

Doc Henry Posted July 18, 2016 Author Share #18696 Posted July 18, 2016 (edited) Thanks, Paul. Good observation, but I prefer the more subtle atmosphere of your original. Ans what I like in the film is that the original is satisfactory and does not need to correct except when you have a little underexposed then you correct. It's a marked difference with the digital where you must always corrected. uncorrected like in this picture below ... as when you lift the nose and look the ceiling of a cathedral in gothic style Kodak Portra 400 (KP400) Leica MP-35 Summilux Asph KP develop. by myself Welcome, dear visitor! gnuyork Posted July 18, 2016 Share #18697 Posted July 18, 2016 Yes Gnu some sites photos or forum distort a little the color image. Glad see you post again with us Best Henry I think it has something to do with my calibrated monitor too. If I use normal srgb settings every thing appears fine, not matter which browser I use. Somehow Safari must read calibrated monitors or something, I don't know, way above my paygrade...
