Advertisement Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Hi Doc Henry, Take a look here I like film...(open thread). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Sparkassenkunde Posted July 15, 2016 Share #18582 Posted July 15, 2016 Thanks....It's not your monitor. I noticed the same, so did Henry...I had no time to fix and couldn't edit the post. For some reason I had to fight blue/green WB with several frames from this roll. I think I may have messed up the WB on the initial scans. I have slight color blindness to lighter shades of green and red...my eyes may have just failed me when I did the scans. I'm going to re-scan and re-post soon. Henry re-posted the book cart with the proper balance. Best, Marc Sorry, didn't read Henry's post! No offense intended

too old to care Posted July 15, 2016 Share #18584 Posted July 15, 2016 Wayne it's very well framing and nice shot. better than in digital for the "soft" side aspect no "cutting" edge unnatural, with a very "deep" black (the car is black or red Wayne ?) and a bokeh composed with grain of film, not with "smoothing" pixels , so giving finally a relief effect for the car in first plan. If you have a digital cam take the same car and compare Rg Henry Thanks Henry. I actually also shot the car (which is gray with black fenders) with my now sold Canon 5D MkII and 50mm Zeiss lens. He liked that image much better, no grain. I think he has been around digital cameras too much. I must say, the digital was an easier shot, but not as much fun developing. I printed a wet version of this photo for him, and an inkjet photo, but he did not like either one. The photo from the Canon was used on a local magazine cover dedicated to Model A owners though. It had him in the background though, which is why he may have liked it more.

erl Posted July 16, 2016 Share #18586 Posted July 16, 2016 This image is dedicated to Merlin, my fabulous German Shepherd, who passed away back in April. It broke my heart, but is being repaired by his young successor, Jupiter who is 14 weeks old. The next post with two pics are of Jupiter at 8 weeks old. This pic was made with M7 and 90mm Cron (I think). Ilford Delta 400 dev in Rodinal 1:50. Welcome, dear visitor! erl Posted July 16, 2016 Share #18590 Posted July 16, 2016 MT0227, forgive my interference, but as you are struggling with the color balance I have made what I see as a correction. I removed Green and a bit of Yellow to achieve what you see here. It was all of 5 secsonds work so not difficult. I hope this helps in some way. Welcome, dear visitor! M7 + Summicron 50/1.4. Delta 400 dev in Xtol. Losing a dog is always hard -- we just lost two in the span of 14 months, and both were far too young (only 7 and 6). The ones that are gone can't ever be "replaced", but the chance to share life with a new dog is a blessing. Jupiter is gorgeous! Hope his puppy joie de vivre will help soothe some of the pain of losing Merlin.
erl Posted July 16, 2016 Share #18592 Posted July 16, 2016 Thank you Kevin. Jupiter is certainly keeping me sane after losing Merlin and also busy! I have him intensively involved in formal training, which is working on me.
sblitz Posted July 16, 2016 Share #18593 Posted July 16, 2016 And a B&W from awhile back. I shot this photo for a friend. He never liked it, said a Leica should have done a better job. I don't know, but I though it did ok. M6, 50mm Summicron, Plus-X, Rodinal 50:1, scanned with a Plustek. How much better could it have been? Perhaps he thought a Leica would turn it into a Lamborghini? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Doc Henry Posted July 16, 2016 Author Share #18594 Posted July 16, 2016 (edited) That TX is something else! Simply Kodak TX400 Pro Marc developed in Kodak D76 dil 1:1 Very nice black and grey shade IMO. I prefer film in comparison with b&w in digital as I just mentioned below. I just watch some pictures of S007 or 006 in b&w in S thread , it misses something in b&w in comparison with film, very strange , may be only my impression. Doc Henry Posted July 16, 2016 Author Share #18598 Posted July 16, 2016 (edited) Silting of Mont Saint Michel in Normandy in the future leads to not having tide which makes the charm of this site.
