Doc Henry Posted June 19, 2016 Author Share #17282 Posted June 19, 2016 (edited) Rollei RPX-25 stand-developed in DDX @ 1:9. Sorry about the (very) dirty negative - I was more interested in how the tones come out than the neg itself. This film has great tonality ("scanned" with an A7R w/ EF MP-E 65mm)... A001 by Eoin Christie, on Flickr TMax 400 stand-developed (not the best idea for higher ISO's), with similar 5x A7R shot... A003 by Eoin Christie, on Flickr A004 by Eoin Christie, on Flickr Steve for me I call this "definition" better than in digital when you crop and when you print the crop too because of grain of film When I compared crop of digital print and analog print , I understood that film is superior and far .... no "plastic" look (as you said) as we see on scans and yet A7R is a good camera with a welknown Sony sensor. I'll try some rolls of Rollei and also Kodak TMax with good "definition" both or "resolution" if you prefer this term . Doc Henry Posted June 19, 2016 Author Share #17284 Posted June 19, 2016 (edited) Langco Lagoon Vietnam Unsusual color I saw that day I know very well this nice place but this day , clouds, warm moisture 70-80% , beach sand and light give a wonderful reflection I don't know if you'll like it but the film reproduce nicer than my M9 . I'll post some pictures for comparison if you permit me Not easy to photograph Kodak Portra 160 M7-35 LA Welcome, dear visitor! PS: before I gave a lab to develop color film , I'm not happy because I have lots of scratches on some photos Explication: as it passes in a PLC and if the products are not clean (residues) , the small wheels in the PLC and residues can scratch the film ! EoinC Posted June 19, 2016 Share #17290 Posted June 19, 2016 (edited) Thanks for posting these. I recently bought two rolls which are waiting patiently for me to go out with my M7 or R7 and a tripod. I think they may not wait too much longer... It is stunning stuff, Mark. Painfully slow to use, even in the bright tropics, but the soft tonal changes are impressive. I just had a look at another roll, and there's something "painterly" about the people in the background (at least in negative). I'll post it shortly. I have some 135 to use, too, and these 2 rolls encourage me to take it out for a spin. Cheers, Eoin Edited June 19, 2016 by EoinC

MarkP Posted June 19, 2016 Share #17292 Posted June 19, 2016 Yes, unlike the old ISO/ASA 25 Tech-Pan it seems to have an very extended tonal range. I'm motivated!
