Thanks for your kind comment

Gary, I want to add that in Asia we are in luminous condition of light.

That's why I recommand 100 or 160 Isos ... and 400 Isos for sunset

Agree with me Gary. ? Same condition in NZ I think :)

Age has withered us all.

Really nice. Age may come for us all but film preserves precious moments of youth in such a special way.

The second shot - you desaturated the background? I like the silhouette at the top of the stairs (as a picture rather than just a portrait)

Not that sure what you are asking Henry, sorry.

The light here is usually quite harsh, and as a "retired" wedding photog, it was usually soot and whitewash. The rare cloudy bright days were great, but few and far between unfortunately.

100 - 400 is all I use for film.

Is that what you were meaning?

Yes Gary thanks for your reply :)

Almost every years I travel for a humantarian mission in Asia.

In my first mission many years ago , I always brought Fuji Velvia or Provia.

The most beautiful pictures in color (with vivid colors) I have is with Velvia 50 Isos.

Regards

Henry

I scanned the slide some years ago, and I must have desaturated the background then. I don't know what I used to do it, as there is no development history showing up in LR. I would have to find and rescan it to show it properly. On the other hand, I don't mind the look of the background as it is at present.

All lovely, but I have a special soft spot in my heart for the Matchless 500. All torque and low revs.

Thanks Henry. I've got a couple (M4-p) now. I love shooting without a meter.

Without hesitation, I can say  Velvia this one

and Ektar

Right Adam ?

and thanks for your nice comment

My guess, like gnuyork, Velvia 1st one, Ektar the 2nd.

I like the second better, it "feels" warmer, slightly.

Both wonderful shots though, hard to differentiate.

Gary

^ 1st Velvia - 2nd Ektar. I like the 1st better.

Thanks for playing the game.  Not surprisingly , you are all right.  Th first is Velvia 50.  A little surprised that Gary likes the Ektar better.  Seeing them side by side like this makes me think that I could work on the Ektar a little bit more to do it more justice.
