Guest JMF Posted May 12, 2016 Share #15084 Posted May 12, 2016 Makes perfect sense, Neil. But according to your description it seemed that you were shooting the GOLD line of Kodak film and not the PORTRA line. To me, it doesn't make sense to shoot with the GOLD line. But it makes a lot of sense to shoot PORTRA, especially as a good "getting your feet wet" film. I don't know the science behind this but it happens to me, too. My intuition is that is has something to do with how fast you turn the advance shutter when you advance the film. But I have nothing to back this up Some infos about the uneven spacing on A12 backs: http://photo.net/medium-format-photography-forum/00D4eE Best, JM. honcho Posted May 12, 2016 Share #15086 Posted May 12, 2016 Part of owning a Hasselblad V series is that these cameras and backs require periodical servicing. Uneven frame spacing means that the back either needs servicing or the film insert and shell are incorrectly matched. Check the serial numbers on both insert and shell, they should correspond. Doc Henry Posted May 12, 2016 Author Share #15090 Posted May 12, 2016 I had the chance to shoot Leion who is also from China studying here in KL. We really wanted to go out and shoot location kind of shots but the weather let us down so ended up shooting in the studio. After lunch I shot two rolls with her at Lake garden but it was hot and sticky (weather not me) but we plan to go out again next time home for some early morning location shooting...... :) TMAX 400 This one too , well framing and superb model N.
