MT0227 Posted May 4, 2016 Share #14790  Posted May 4, 2016 Yes, know what you mean... It was about 2pm so no long shadows But i just returned from a spot that waa barely shootable as it is around 5pm now (with the sun behind me) In any case, imo the finder isnt all that useful in controlled situations and i use a prism finder as it provides the full (unobstructed) frame and also ability to focus...  I was looking into the prism finder for my SWC, I opted for the 6X6 Voigtlander Angle Finder instead....thinking I'd be using it more often.  I carry my SWC around with me a fair amount and usually shooting in un-controlled scenarios most of the time.  The angle finder gets me some pretty cool street perspectives without having to crouch, slouch, twist my neck, or get my knees and clothes dirty.  For the un-controlled scenarios, I zone focus; for larger, deeper, landscapes I've just used hyper-focal focusing.  I love this camera, such a joy to hold and shoot, but a little tricky to get used to.  I've gotten a lot better at judging distance to subject the more I use it. It definitely takes a little time to get used to having no focus/metering visuals.
