christoph_d Posted April 8, 2016 Share #13661 Posted April 8, 2016 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks Philip and Henry, I often wonder the same thing about the kids from these photos . Here a shot from my first roll on a Zenith Horizont with Kodak EC 100: Molom, the Shaman . by _JM_, on Flickr For a good while the cropped feet were bothering me... ;-) Yep, the feet ... But that is (partially) compensated by the great setting and fitting colour rendering. Very nice. Guest Benqui Posted April 8, 2016 Share #13663 Posted April 8, 2016 Forget sharpness, it is a beautiful portrait! I am sure your girlfriend will love it. A very nice effect are the blurred lights in the background. best wishes Marc
gbealnz Posted April 8, 2016 Share #13664 Posted April 8, 2016 Agreed, this is one of those shots where sharpness should take a back-seat. Wonderful portrait indeed. Gary
maxip Posted April 8, 2016 Share #13665 Posted April 8, 2016 (edited) Thanks for all the nice comments guys. @philipus Thank you sir! Yea I like reflections but i have to admit, quite a luck shot @gbealnz I think it comes all down to personal preferences. I like the negatives produced by DDX. Really fine grain and huge dynamic range. (I usually shoot my black and white film at 800.) But you are absolutely right. Rodinal has advantages. And expenses is a big one. @wattsy the images of your daughter(?) are excellent! As I post this I am scanning the first images from my new Contax T2. Hope I can show you something later. A few more with the M6. Edited April 8, 2016 by maxip

Wish the lens was sharper, but it makes the skin look great shot wide open! Beautiful portrait and photograph. I agree with the other comments - a sharper lens would have done a great disservice to this photograph.

MarkP Posted April 8, 2016 Share #13670 Posted April 8, 2016 (edited) I Not as dramatic as I thought ... Ektar ET.jpg ...because it is missing a foreground with smart car, ladder, MF camera and an Adam... Edited April 8, 2016 by MarkP
EoinC Posted April 8, 2016 Share #13671 Posted April 8, 2016 I took another crack I took at this scene. This time to get more headroom I bought a 12 foot (4ish meter) ladder from the local hardware store and stuck it into the back of my Smartcar (with about 1/3 sticking out of the back) and transported it to this location. This view is from the top of the ladder. Not as dramatic as I thought might be the case but headroom I nevertheless got Ektar ET.jpg That's dedication!!!! It was worth it, Adam - Great shot.
