EoinC Posted February 21, 2016 Share #11649 Posted February 21, 2016 This is great. Reminds me of those 'artists impressions' that you see on billboards at construction sites. Thanks, Trev - now you mention it, yes, it does. It's the foyer in the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Happily, it's a rather busy place.
dgc Posted February 21, 2016 Share #11650 Posted February 21, 2016 I have posted a number of images of Brantôme in this thread - here is another I just found lurking untouched on the hard drive. View of the Abbey alongside the River Dronne. M7, C-Sonnar 50mm, Acros 100. I like this. The brightness of the church against the sky is very good.
EoinC Posted February 21, 2016 Share #11651 Posted February 21, 2016 These images are amazingly sharp - must be a combination of Acros 100 (which developer?) and excellent scanning. Unfortunately, David, I can't help much. They were developed and scanned at a Fujifilm outlet in Singapore. I'm about to go back to self-development (sounds like the title of a book in the Health & Wellbeing section at an airport bookstore), so that I can wrest back control. Next on the shopping list is a film scanner (which will have to wait a month or two), and finally a darkroom, once I find somewhere a bit more permanent. Cheers, Eoin
EoinC Posted February 21, 2016 Share #11652 Posted February 21, 2016 I really don't understand why anybody would do this. Because some idiots think only about themselves, and what they can show their idiotic friends, rather than having any sense of empathy and consideration for those who have suffered at the hands of other idiots.

Guest Posted February 21, 2016 Share #11654 Posted February 21, 2016 (edited) Lucky you are , for places to shoot snow Very nice picture ... and your conclusion with HP5 ? Best Henry Hi Henry, I will try again with HP5+, but this time with my M6 so I can expose the film with whatever setting I feel like. I think 3-4 stops over exposed (according to the meter) with snow or fog or both could be interesting. Of course 2-3 stops on top of the meter reading should give me about the *correct* exposure. But the extra stop on top might bring out more contrast. We shall see. When it comes to metering, I truly believe snow should be mostly white, and for that matter night scenes should be mostly black. Exactly the extremes with which internal meters get very confused. One of these days I'll swap the M6 for an M3 or M2 and then I'll be on my own. On a similar note, I'm always seeing night scenes taken on digital with the ISO pumped up on Flickr which are a. very beautiful and b. very untrue. An owl might see detail, light and clarity at night, but my 51 year old eyes don't. Lastly, I really do enjoy the look of grain on film, especially the grain that comes through on photos taken with tricky light - night being the obvious. Guest Posted February 21, 2016 Share #11655 Posted February 21, 2016 And Adam, I started on my first roll of Cinestill 800T on Friday evening using my Contax T2. I was on one of my orgies of street snapping (something that occasionally happens with a bit of alcohol in my blood stream) when the bloody battery in the T2 ran dry... damn damn damn. Shall resume one evening this week. I've been a hardcore B&W shooter for almost two years, so looking for colour *and* composition *and* making both fit together was a very different experience. Keith (M) Posted February 21, 2016 Share #11656 Posted February 21, 2016 Hello Keith, That is a really nice photo #11641. It is a shame it is so big that a person can't see the entire photo all at 1 time. Is there any way to make the photo a little smaller so a person can see the entire photo at once instead of having to scroll up & down to see it in pieces? Best Regards, Michael Any better, Michael?
