Keith (M) Posted February 18, 2016 Share #11463 Posted February 18, 2016 Yep, my first memories of proper peasoup would also have been in the very early 1970s ("Plant a Tree in 73") just up the road from you in Romiley. I remember the amazing silence as all the traffic was grounded... both on the ground and in the air. Even the buses were stopped. Walking to and from skool was an amazing experience for a wee lad... gsgary Posted February 18, 2016 Share #11470 Posted February 18, 2016 Ah ! Someone spotted my little joke - it is for our overseas friends who refer to whole of the Great Britain as England !No they refer to it as Europe, I didn't think people in Wales had a sense of humour [emoji1] they probably won't when we thrash you in the 6 nations
chrism Posted February 18, 2016 Share #11471 Posted February 18, 2016 Looks like it will be a few days before I can contribute again. We had a sewer backup and a flooded basement. The house is in chaos, and the consolations of chemical photography will have to wait a short while. It does look like you're all doing a fantastic job in the meantime! gsgary Posted February 18, 2016 Share #11472 Posted February 18, 2016 A good series of images. I do use Fomapan quite often, usually ISO 100. How do you find 400 ? It does not look too grainy and has good contrast. By the way, has anybody used Fomapan 100 4x5 sheet film ? I was thinking of getting some as it appears reasonable value (£35 for 50 sheets) to start my large format journey ... Cheers I use Foma 400 most also in 35mm and just got 10 rolls of 120 for the Fuji GW690 because I will be using it handheld and on the streets I'll need F11 for some DOF

It is so complex and dizzying to look at. Like a brain teaser of sorts. Really well done...

A miller Posted February 18, 2016 Share #11480 Posted February 18, 2016 And I actually have a version of it in black and white. Here it is. 24442545114_9478914411_obws.jpg Philip - The B&W is a totally different photo for me vs the color version. I like the B&W much better as it showcases the geometry and scale better (which I think it the strength of the photo), at least to me...
