Out of focus - Shell House.

I was placing a red square filter over my Olympus mju ii, which impeded the lens from its full travel resulting in the out of focus. I still quite like it.

And this is another flawed image - not how to treat negatives ! Portra 160 taken with Hasselblad 500cm.

What hood are you using on your 35 Summicron ASPH, Bruno? It's the lens I use most of the time but I have mixed feelings about the flare 'arcs' that it seems a little prone to and am thinking of trying a different hood.

Similar. I have the fancy 12504 type hood that came with the lens I have (black chrome version). It is annoying that it came with this hood because I know that it isn't as good as the 12526 standard hood that I have had previously with the 35 Summicron. However, I haven't yet got around to buying the 12526 and I was interested in what hood Bruno was using (if he was using a hood) because if the 12526 isn't going to make much difference I might not bother spending the £120 to get one.

Ian , some photographers prefer the ref 15585 in metal to "avoid"  flare as I read

I say "avoid" , but it can happen in some photos anyway.

Photos contre-jour are more beautiful but can sometimes or often flares
It depends on what angle you're doing your focus.

Bruno will answer you

What, did you forget to turn on digital ICE? :D I like the colours a lot and the composition is very nice, too.

Long time without posting, so here we go, from my last 12 developed rolls from Portugal, London and my hometown Ronda (Andalucía, Spain).

Everything took with MP Cron 35 ASPH, TriX rated 400 and HC110 H dilution.

Hi Bruno- All are lovely.  I really like the rendition of the Tri-X.  And I love Italy, so please share more, particularly of the people  :)  Best, Adam

I don't think I've ever seen a photo thread on any forum being so alive and with such truly inspiring and varied photography. These days this thread is my main reason for visiting LUF.

Focusing before pressing the shutter is usually a good idea  but on this occasion it turned out ok-ish also without doing so.

The 12526  usually pops up for much cheaper on eBay, or I was lucky a couple of times !

Whenever I've looked there doesn't seem to be any compelling bargains (once shipping and exchange rates are taken into account) so you might have been "lucky". :D  The most irritating thing about this is that I have bought and sold this lens many times over the years and the last time I sold the lens (which was the millennium black paint version) I unnecessarily bundled in the 12526 hood that I had bought separately, thinking I was unlikely to need it again.
