One from a (now defunct) competitor to the Leica M - Contax G2 + Contax 35 - 70mm zoom, Kodak Gold 200.

St Circ Lapopie, overlooking the Lot River.

Thanks - very nice picture. I know this village quite well - it is simply lovely. I hope to return before too long.

Had a quick play with this shot not sure if it is any better

I think it is all a matter of rendition, Gary.  IS this a further edit of the original scanned file or did you rescan it using auto settings with an aim for a flat scan?

Just a further edit, I will try the auto settings scan

that is what I thought, as the area where the shadow has been opened looks stressed.

What scanner software are you using?

viewscan with Epson V500, I will try a new scan tomorrow if I have time Edited by gsgary

right, vuescan, so in the Color section I would suggest the following:

-use Auto for Color Balance

-set both black and white points to 0%

-set curve low to 0.25

-set curve high to 0.75

-set all "brightness" settings to 1

-use a GENERIC film stock profile

-I would also use "fine" mode and scan on the best resolution possible and save as a TIFF
