Delta 100 is one of, if not the best, monochrome films for pictorial subjects but it's weakness is with reciprocity failure after between 1-2 seconds.   Scans beautifully.

You should try tmax 100. It is a great film and has great reciprocity failure qualities. Tmax 400 does as well

I should have been clearer, I meant in the actual C41 processing such as increased development time.

But that is interesting about the scanning and will bear in mind. Thanks.

Hi David - so sorry as the confusion was on my end. The extent of my developing to tell my lab to either process normal or push. For the normally processed exposures, i will have typically shot at a good stop over what my incident meter would have told me to take into account the unevenness of the fall light throughout the scene. I've used both Tmax 100 & 400 a lot in the past for portrait and wedding work, but for pictorial subjects I will always come back to Ilford Delta 100 in any format.

I hope you win the auction, you won't be disappointed especially if it's a 'low mileage' late model (check the counter on the base of the camera)  The GSW690iii output is so good that I sold my entire Mamiya 7(ii) equipment after I got it because I preferred the Fuji, both as a camera and for what it can do.  This was back in pre digital days when all my commissioned work was taken on film. It's an old friend now and I still enjoy using it, but I still have work published from images I've made recently.  It's still in mint condition even after years of being thrown into a rucksack and taken out in all conditions. use it with care and you'll get 5x4" quality with the convenience of roll film.

 

The cons are really with the absurd 'T' setting operation of the shutter and the sliding hood which makes a Lee filter system virtually impossible to use.  Many users 'modified' the camera by cutting the hood off the lens, but I preferred to keep mine intact and modify my method with the camera instead.

 

Great camera, especially for landscape & travel.  Good luck!

I will use it the same way (if I win) I use my m's never use filter on them though I have about £400 worth of Lee filters also the big Lee hood, It is classed as mint condition 65mm like yours

Fuji Acros 100: punchy, sharp and very fine grain with exposure reciprocity up to 2 minutes.  The Cambo Wide 470xl is hand holdable, I use it almost exclusively with a 6x12cm back.  It's a nice 2:1 format and the Super Angulon 47mm xl lens is a similar angle to a 14mm lens on 35mm.  I really like the extreme fall-off and never use a centre grad with mono neg film.

This is the famous Guggenheim Museum on 5th Avenue in NYC.

I will be hanging around this block a lot in the near future and trying to find interesting perspectives for a short portfolio.

These two photographs were shot with

Ilford Pan F 50 and 

Fuji Velvia 50

 

I don't have much traction with the Pan F 50 and used it in the wrong way with the low light and long exposure; but I really like the creaminess and will use it more...

The Pan F shot is more to my liking. I can't describe it, but feel the perspective in the Velvia either too close or too wide - if you get what I mean :blink:

 

Here comes a test shot from the first roll out of my lately acquired Ricoh GR1s. Nice little cam with a very good 28mm lens, but it is a bit defective. At first it wouldn't wind up a film, then only half way, in the end I had three or four rolls of film eaten up by the cam before I was able to shoot one roll completely. Will give it another try soon :)

brilliant, James.  Glad to see you come around and make the purchase.  Did you buy any chance purchase a Square Trade warranty?  I bought one for the GR1v that I purchased last year and sent to them a couple of months ago due to a defect and they refunded me my entire Ebay purchase price.  Hope the kinks get worked out with yours.  It has a lot of capability, so enjoy it!
