rpavich Posted January 15, 2016 Share #9602 Posted January 15, 2016 I think it looks very good. Which film did you use? br Philip Oh, I guess I should have said that part of it. Fuji Superia X-Tra 400. A cheap everyday film
rpavich Posted January 15, 2016 Share #9603 Posted January 15, 2016 At first glance it seems OK for me Paul . Sky is blue, red is red and white snow is white and no veil or dominance ... so we can compensate for the temperature drop by increased development time Good to know ! to see with experience I work at 30 °C instead of 38°C recommended, and I get the same result, in a water bath on a hot plate. Some work in a fish tank with an electrical resistance set at 30 ° C ... however in the instructions of Tetenal they told "unederdevelopment with color density and contrast lower" It happened to me on one roll to forget 2 -3 minutes (30°C) in developer to have the entire film "underdeveloped" Best Henry I might try the fishtank heater if it's easy to do.

philipus Posted January 15, 2016 Share #9607 Posted January 15, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I think the green (as seen on my uncorrected office monitor) looks good, Henry. Funny, I know this spot in Annecy.
chrism Posted January 15, 2016 Share #9608 Posted January 15, 2016 For today, this isn't about the picture, it's about the developing. I wanted to know if I could get away with developing my C41 at room temperature. (which in the winter is 17c) So I checked out a few threads around the 'net and decided on 30 minutes developer and 30 minutes blix, with normal washing and stabilizer. I used a Rondinax 35U so that I could just develop 5 frames out of my roll since I didn't know if it would work or not and I didn't want to ruin a whole roll if it failed. I'd say it was a success. The colors look fine, and the grain isn't any more pronounced than my normal grain for this film. It was a bit long, so I watched netflix while turning the knob on the Rondinax. I'm not sure if the trade off is worth it; time vs temperature hassle. In any case, here is the result. Thank you. I might try this, as even an hour developing and fixing is quicker than the time it takes me to get my solutions up to temperature. I shall sacrifice a roll of Fuji Superia 400 (the vin ordinaire of my colour film stocks) and expend it entirely on cats, brick walls and such like. Of course, in the interests of science and progress, I shall have to upload them all to be studied.....
lleo Posted January 15, 2016 Share #9609 Posted January 15, 2016 Out in a bitter wind with the SWC and Portra. The sea was red with churned up sand, and the rocks coated in frozen spray. Cape John 3 by chrism229, on Flickr Cape John 2 by chrism229, on Flickr Cape John 1 by chrism229, on Flickr and one silly mistake, the optical finder on the SWC is perched high above the camera and you can't see what is going to be in the bottom of the frame! Who is that man? by chrism229, on Flickr Chris Really nice. The first one reminds me about last year in Tuscany. The sea was almost the same colour because the eroded and churned sand. I'll post one if I found it but that's not taken with my Leica. It's a Sony and also digital
