thanks, Steve. I am going to the Freedom Tower observatory tomorrow for the sunset. I bought an express ticket so I don't have to wait (as long). Hoping to get there around 3ish if you want to join me.... Should be nice weather...

Sounds good. Let's talk in the morning

About a week before the solstice, when the sun was essentially at its southern-most point and shooting northward up Manhattan as it set, illuminating the Empire State building like a jewel.  Retaining shadow detail in the nearby buildings was somewhat of a challenge.  As was getting all of the numerous people in the street to get out of my photo (save for the ballerina, which I allowed to stay  :) ) !!

Wow. I've seen many pictures with very similar composition. But the Ballerina really adds something here. Wonderful light well captured. Wish I'd taken it.

Cool shot Adam with wonderful light. Did you clone away people or actually physically remove them? :) The ballerina (what is she doing there?) adds a very nice surreal touch.

Welcome Milou. I like your photo. Very dramatic perspective. Looking forward to more photos.

Hello,

I love this topic ! Congratulations on your pictures.

I am new on the forum (I am on a "discovery phase") and love using analog cameras and develop my black and white films. Even if I also use numeric, I am in a bad mood if i do not have at least 2 analog with me  ;)

Hope to share with you soon

Really like the first one Steve. As if the gargoyle is scowling at those horrible modern buildings.

here are few more from Blitz archives -- these are Paris in the summer 1983 --

I like this series a lot. Wonderful crispness to the light. I like especially the last one.

The walk to Peters Stone, sorry it's been so long since i posted, not my best but it's a nice walk, (20 years out of date bAgfa APX100)

A bit of street from last summer (feels like very long ago, which I guess it also is :) ). I believe I shot this at 1 or 2 stop over-exposure and had it developed at box speed.

During my last walk on the river Seine's banks in November 2015, I had 2 analog. cameras , my M7 with a roll of Kodak Portra 400 and my MP with Ilford HP5 400 Isos.

I show you here a photo of the Seine banks with walkers and lovers in color :)

On my last New Year walk at Paris , I have also my M7 but the weather is too cloudy, so I only shoot with my MP in b&w :)

It seems your Agfa has kept time better than my Ilford. It was a Delta 100, if I remember good, stored inside the fridge longer than 10 years, surely.

I guarantee you that at normal size the grain is disturbing.

Taken, as always, with my IIIf and Summicron 5cm f/2. The same day I've shot also with my Pentax Spotmatic, another super camera I love. It was interesting seeing the differences between the two jewels.

I'm always being given old film but I have never had much luck with old Delta, FP4 and HP5 have never been a problem

I find that the 28mm lens is better than 35 mm for this kind of pictures and Street Photos and Adam is right. The 35 is just enough.

About the Kodak TX400 it's better than the Ilford HP5 400 Isos for deep black and white tone.

Here are my first conclusions with 2 rolls of Kodak TX for this New Year shots.

The last time I had also used two rolls of HP5 and 35 mm lens

With film, we take the time to frame, we think about what is going to take, not like inflation of pictures with digital camera

Yes, Gary, it was a long time ago. I'm actually using quite predominantly Pan F Plus and FP4 Plus. Got to try Fuji though.

Happy NY to you, Doc.

It's Rome. Well, I'm still learning the site. Also, I try not to upload big size pics on the net, you know it's impossible to avoid having them stolen.
