philipus Posted September 12, 2015 Share #6791 Posted September 12, 2015 Love the tones of that photo, Michael. Here's a visually not very interesting photo but it's shot on colour film and not converted to grayscale; I only adjusted the colour balance to make it look monochrome. A miller Posted September 13, 2015 Share #6798 Posted September 13, 2015 on the subject of wine... One of my monthly get-togethers with a rotating cast of 9 friends whereby each brings a very special bottle from his cellar and we feast on sickening amounts of meat. The piece in the center is a 3 KG rib roast that was slow cooks for 10 hours by the gentleman in the far back left (standing). According to our Doc Henry, good for the Alzheimers (God forbid), but bad for the heart (God forbid). You just can't win... Hassy SWC, Ilford Delta 3200. Welcome, dear visitor! Doc Henry Posted September 13, 2015 Author Share #6800 Posted September 13, 2015 (edited) for red wine you know why ? Best Henry Stress generates "free radicals" which are in the brain, the vessel wall etc ... and in red wines (only red wine) there are tannins or polyphenols which are antioxidants that capture "free radicals". Gary is correct in saying that it is also good for the heart and blood vessels as it prevents greases from oxidizing (if oxidized blood vessels, forming atherosclerotic plaque) Best Henry Edited September 13, 2015 by Doc Henry
