philipus Posted June 18, 2015 Share #5225 Â Posted June 18, 2015 Very nice shots Dave. Â Double-X is my favourite B&W film in 135. I almost never shoot Tri-X anymore. Double-X has a wonderful latitude exposure-wise. I've used it at EI200-1000 with (for my requirements) satisfactory results. That it also dries quite flat is an extra bonus. I'll som be trying it in Diafine soon. So far I've only used HC-110.

Mentally and emotionally, lately, it has been overwhelming but I find the Double X to be quite interesting and I hope to buy some bulk rolls soon. These were done in D76. Â I am going to be exploring grain and such with different variations as soon as I get my workflow down. The process is most interesting.

Dave, I am glad you go back enjoying life and practice the development of the film. It's even better if you can develop on (silver) paper. It's magic. A miller Posted June 18, 2015 Share #5236  Posted June 18, 2015 Jetty to Nowhere, with a bit more activity (I'm not sure which one I prefer)  Botany Bay, Sydney M7, 1.4/35 Summilux ASPH Portra 400 I like the other better. The children on the right in this one adds an element of interest that I like. But the kids on the pier make the photo look snappy and detract from the mood that you have established in the first photo. Also, I like the color scheme and smooth tonality of the first better. There isn't a big difference, but I do notice one. Having said this, the horizon in the second seems a little more level than the first. You might want to take a look at this.
