Doc Henry Posted March 28, 2015 Author Share #3781 Posted March 28, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Well, with the enthusiasm from many of the members here rubbing off, mainly Henry, I have renewed my love of film. Digital is SOOOOO easy, shoot, inspect, upload, and what's next. Too easy perhaps. This is from a roll of APX100 that I took to Europe two years ago, and never used. Put back in the fridge, where it sat until I received yet another M6, and I dug it out, about 3-4 months ago. I shot the roll in a few days while our eldest grand-daughter visited over Christmas, she's a trick for sure. Film then went back into the fridge, and only today I dug it out and ran it through some Rodinal. Taken with an ugly 50 Summicron (now sold, but looking at the negs, I already miss it), and the M6 with APX100/Rodinal (1:50) combo. Film was "scanned by shooting a prof sheet on the light box (while the negs were inside the sleeve/page. Then the few I wanted were removed, and photographed using my X-E1 and Leica BEOON. Lens was an aged Apo Rodagon 50mm. Altogether, a very pleasant process, NO, not as simple as digital, but pleasant just the same. And the bonus? "Spotting" the dust and dags is so much easier than the old days of ink and a fine spotting brush. I'm hooked. Gary Gary, the first shot is a success Lovely portrait very well done ! I like pisture 2 and 3 ! Thanks for thinking of us Best Henry Gary I practically no use my 2 digital M and I am glad to shoot with film really ! Color is beautiful without correction with photo software

pico Posted March 29, 2015 Share #3789 Posted March 29, 2015 This post may not fit here. I do not know. I am giving up 35mm film photography until/unless the legendary massive EMP hits, and then I'll dive into the freezer full of hundreds of feet of 35mm film. I cannot get by with any film format smaller than nominal 6x6cm, and 6x9cm preferred. 4x5" is great. 8x10" is a burden because there's nowhere to install my enlarger. Gads - all that film in the freezer. I'm selling all my 35mm cameras. Keeping one M9 digital.
A miller Posted March 29, 2015 Share #3790 Posted March 29, 2015 Pico - Not sure what EMP is, but I'm a buyer so spill the beans as to what you have. I sold me M9 just 2 weeks ago... (Lost only $1800 after 3 years whereas I lost $3000 after just one year with my MM.)
robert_parker Posted March 29, 2015 Share #3791 Posted March 29, 2015 Hi Pico I don't know what EMP is either but if it stands for e-mail Parker to send him lots of film, that's fine by me.... ps. Steve - I think there's something about teaming up Cinestill with older lenses that makes sense and works naturally

A few more street style pickies, taken in or around Milano Centrale station a couple of months ago. The two of the advertising board were my poor attempts to capture that decisive moment. But after a few minutes I felt too stupid standing at the same spot waiting for people to pass by "just so". So these two are all I got.
