Doc Henry Posted March 17, 2015 Author Share #3654 Posted March 17, 2015 (edited) Just a technical message: I just posted two messages on this thread about chromatic aberration (CA) http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m-lenses/366748-ca-problem-my-50-1-4-a.html It is a lens problem but I think also a digital sensor problem I wanted to see if cropped I have chromatic aberration with a film portra 160 (with the same Summilux 50) the result: nothing Your opinion ? am I right ? otto.f Posted March 17, 2015 Share #3655 Posted March 17, 2015 (edited) Could be. But I'm sure I produced purple fringes with slide film too, with any lens. If the contre-jour is strong enough it's easy to let it happen, as lct already stated in the thread you cite. If I start pixel-peeping on the first image of this series: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/people/366814-joe-bonamassa-concert.html I see it too. This is with 35FLE on 2.0. The question is do you really want all the optical flaws wiped out and do you want a lens that does that with merciless perfection? Otto, lens is not perfect I agree with you, but in color we must limit these problems Look at my reply : http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/2904801-post6.html and about "dynamic range" http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/why-we-love-film.htm Edited March 17, 2015 by Doc Henry
 Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! wlaidlaw Posted March 17, 2015 Share #3660 Posted March 17, 2015 Don't care what yer say, it'll never fly. Ric That would be tomorrow's job then. My father made the mistake of buying a business in 1959, which had bases in Oban and Stornoway. He quickly came to the conclusion that the average west highlander could give the Spanish a good lesson on the priniciple "oh we will get round to doing that Mañana."
