Is it neither then?

Pete.

I believe it could be a Jaguar SS, about 1935 with non-standard bonnet and wheels although with such non-standard bodywork that high bonnet line and relaxed seating position is not untypical of a (highly modified) Bugatti of about the same era or a little earlier.

Where are Wilson and Ronnie when you need them :cool:??

To help you and to identify the model , I propose you these crops at 200%

Anyway "hat" gentlemen , experts for your tenacity :)

Very impressive I did not know that Pete, Robert , Allan or Gary like sports cars. Congratulations gentlemen !

Thank you for this fascinating debate. I'll get you more car photos :D

Best

Henry

PS: Notice that a crop of 200% does not lose the definition of the image of film , where we can see silver grains

instead of square pixels

Could be a Lagonda ?

I think the radiator is the wrong shape for Lagonda and while it might be a very modified Alvis Speed 20 - I'll stick with Jaguar, although the bodywork is so modified it's hard to tell.

Henry, looking at the first photo of the front part of the car I'm almost sure it's a Jaguar SS. Never seen one without doors though and usually in a better 'classical' state. ;)

edit:

Ok, thought about it. Risking humiliation now but I'm going for SS100. God I hope I'm not too far off now!
