Who could refuse Ingrid. ;) Our gardens front and back are full of Poppies each summer - we just let them run wild.

Doc --your film work is killing me!

The astonishing range of tones with the TriX (how do you process that film?), the exquisitely vibrant colors of Portra, and oh that velvety Velvia!!!

I just ordered a few rolls of each....you are making me get into trouble here. ;)

Thanks Andy for posting your pictures .Superb colors !

Hi Ece, after almost four years of M8 and M9 I go back to film.

I think the film is beautiful, I do not want picture sharpness at any price. The software of the 2 M is stupid because it gives a picture the same everywhere.

It's a kind of "robot", no nuance, the edge is smooth, the picture is flat "without soul".

The film's still most beautiful to see and grain gives something more

Note that the edge of the poppy is a little blurry , but not smooth , even if it is clear :)

a little thick (consistency) like the real poppy

Ece

Thanks Guenther for your very nice poppies in contre jour

Ece,

I forgot to answer you. Sorry :o

I develop myself my b&w film and soon the color (C41)

For b&w is the D76 (Kodak) 1+1 or Ilfosol 3 (Ilford) 1+9

in firmly closed plastic bottles you can keep for several weeks (use for 10 films) but I change the developer with each film

For color film, I am waiting my water bath for a temperature of 30 ° C constant

For Velvia I give to the laboratory Fuji France

All b&w photos posted here, for the film , were developed by myself

Best

Henry

PS :You can send me a MP if you need more information.

I also have an enlarger a Focomat 1C with a Focotar.

I'm developing my b&w pictures on paper

For Ingrid and Guenther , picture in "contre-jour" (against light) in macrophoto (uncropped) , but with Fuji Superia pro 100 :)

against light , the film is more flexible than digital and I always succeed my photos

another picture against the light ("contre-jour")

for Ingrid, Guenther and all of you, to show you that the film is very easy to shoot in "contre-jour" better than my M8 or M9 without missing photo

Thank you Henry. In the pictures i can see your affinity for poppies.

Fuji Superia was also my preferred film in the analog days

Following a photo of poppies at the Baie, taken digitally as my other images of the poppies.

Wow wonderful with Mont Saint Michel behind !

Merci Guenther

It is never too late Guenther, to remake the analog film.Do like me ! :)

Films now like Portra or Fuji are thinner and with beautiful grain

For nature colors (green, red like poppies) I like Fuji well , but the Kodak Portra 400 which reminds a lot the M9, according to Erwin Puts

Thanks for all the wonderful shots with the excellent processing, Henry.

It was hard to give away the Nikon F4 (no Leica :o), but I don't want to go back now.

Je te souhaite une bonne soirée
