Continuous pictures wt. half-pressed shutter?

So here is my problem: I often keep the camera on the eye to take more pictures of the same object. The way I do this on my Canon is by keeping the shutter-button half-pressed so the camera does not need to re-focus und re-calculate f-stop and ss for every new picture.

The problem with my X2: I need to take the finger off the shutter-buttonall the way to do this. So the camera is refocusing and re-calculating every time, that slows the process of taking continuous pictures down considerably. The only half-work-around is doing everything manual - focus, shutter-speed, f-stop. But I still need to take off the finger from the shutter-button all the way to take the next picture.

Is this a known problem - or does anybody have a workaround??

Thanks!

Well, the simplest workaround is to set the camera to "C"(ontinuous) and depress the shutter button to take a rapid series.

If you want to go a bit slower than that just set manual focus and exposure. That cuts out the waiting time for the camera.
