069883 Posted April 2, 2007 Share #1 Posted April 2, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have had an M6 for several years that was bought secondhand, but I have never known which rangefinder it has; .85, .72, etc. Is there an easy way to identify this without disassembly? Thanks
Advertisement Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Hi 069883, Take a look here Rangefinder question. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
norbertnl Posted April 2, 2007 Share #2 Posted April 2, 2007 There is an easy way: if the finder shows all six frames it's a .72. In a .85 there is no 28mm frame, a .58 does not have the 135mm frame. Best regards, Norbert
ppp Posted April 3, 2007 Share #3 Posted April 3, 2007 M6 has only a 0,72 rangefinder. M6 TTL, M7, Mp have 0,85, 0,72 and 0,58 rangefinders. ppp
wizard Posted April 3, 2007 Share #4 Posted April 3, 2007 M6 has only a 0,72 rangefinder. No, M6 also exists as a 0.85 version, although not many were built. Andy
ppp Posted April 3, 2007 Share #5 Posted April 3, 2007 Yes, you're right. In 1997 leica introduced the 0,85 finder, and M6 was produced untill 1999; in this case, the M6 has a "0,85" laser engraved in front.
