S2 Lens Cases?

Being well-served by a Pelican case for the Leica S2 body, I would be grateful for pointers to similar protection for the 35mm, 70mm, and 120mm lenses, preferably packed individually.

Have you looked at Leica's rolling case for the S body and four lenses...

Leica's case is obscenely overpriced and oversized for my three-lens system. I'm thinking Pelican or HPRC, though foam cut to the exact dimensions is a major attraction. I just traded in my FP lenses, and despite my best efforts to protect them in transit, each one had its shade fractured at the mount.

Yes, it is expensive, but I find it very comfortable and secure to travel with, both in a car and on flights. With 3 lenses you have a couple of rooms for flash and other stuff. SInce it is a rolling case you are relieved of carrying all the stuff on airports with long walking distance. It also gets through security without much trouble. And, it is the best protection for expensive gear.

But, you can of course buy the empty case, and do the cut-outs yourself, I think this is the closest you get to the original S case:

HPRC 2550 Wheeled Hard Case, Empty Interior HPRC2550WEBLACK B&H

Do not store lenses long term in foam or leather or you will be sorry.

A small bag is the easiest thing in the world to sew. Use worn sweat pants or flannel sheets . I know it sounds crude, but it is effective and cheap.

Crown Royal comes in a nice blue bag with a draw string and you get to drink the scotch. I did see one other person using hers at one time.

Jewelers sell bags for protecting silver hollow ware.

And why is this the case? Is there an out-gassing issue? Perhaps the breakdown of the foam creates all sorts of dirt particles to enter the equipment? Most cases are cubed foam... Thanks.

I am happy I bought it,it's cheap compared to the gear it protects and very useful...
