pauledell Posted April 9, 2013 Share #2 Posted April 9, 2013 Adam, An excellent shot for composition and tones. I might have been inclined to crop off the right side just a bit to place the subject off of the center of the picture. My opinion. Paul
A miller Posted April 9, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted April 9, 2013 Many thanks, Paul. Really appreciate your comment. I clipped off a little bit of the right side and low and behold the person now seems to be dead center. This version seems more all around symmetrical, though for me it's a close call. Thanks again! stuny Posted April 9, 2013 Share #4 Posted April 9, 2013 Adam - Terrific, and even though I prefer having more space in front of or behind a subject I think the strong geometry of this image makes the on-center subject work well. East side of the old Customs House? Hmm. Maybe not. I don't recall the stripes or stanchions. Perhaps instead on Broad Street.
A miller Posted April 9, 2013 Author Share #5 Posted April 9, 2013 Thanks, much Stuart. I think I agree with you and Paul regarding the slight cropping. As for the location, this is the NW corner of the NY Federal Reserve building, on the SW corner of Maiden Lane and William street.
