IkarusJohn Posted April 8, 2013 Share #1 Posted April 8, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have just received a couple of test Monochrom prints back from Whitewall, and I'm very happy with the results. Next issue, how to mount and hang them? One is large - 105 x 70, and another 75 x 50. I wish to hang them in my office; the question is, how do others mount and hang their prints? These images have a black border, so framing is less important. Before I go to the framers, I would like some idea of what the options are, and what others do. I'm new to printing and hanging my pictures. In the past, they have simply been mounted on foam, and become pretty beaten up with time ... Advertisement Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Hi IkarusJohn, Take a look here Mounting & Framing Options. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
kokoshawnuff Posted April 8, 2013 Share #2 Posted April 8, 2013 For my photos I use custom cut mats and frames and do the assembly myself. I know the specific place I use (Custom Pictures: Frame in Metal and Wood – DIY Picture Framing from - American Frame) isn't relevant to you in NZ, but some similar stores are likely down there. Good luck
wattsy Posted April 8, 2013 Share #3 Posted April 8, 2013 I always go for simple traditional 'gallery' style frames – black (occasionally white) frame with the print t-hinged behind a slightly off-white mount/mat and glass.
Michael Geschlecht Posted April 8, 2013 Share #4 Posted April 8, 2013 Hello John, You might try going to some Antique Shops or Art Galleries that have frames for older paintings & photos & see how you like your 2013 photos in a 1913 or 1813 frame. Or perhaps in a frame from some year in between. Best Regards, Michael
