Leica filters delay

Owning a Leica is a frustrating waiting game.

Tom

How right you are,

1, have to wait for delivery of M8's to dealers.

2, have to wait for announcement of fix for IR

3, have to wait for delivery of mkII M8's to dealers.

4, have to wait during the sending and return of mkI to solms for upgrade

5, have to wait for firmware fix (1.0.9)

6, have to wait for a further firmware fix (1.0.92)

7, have to wait for still a further firmware fix (1.10)

8, have to wait for a 55 & 60mm UV/IR (22 weeks)

9, have to wait for Noctilux (delivery time 8 weeks)

Just as well I'm a patient man, but everything comes to those that wait, or so I keep telling my self. Meanwhile I'll continue to enjoy the images it produces while I wait.;)

You mean, you didn't order a WATE so that you can wait on it?:p

I ordered a 55 and a 46 within 15 minutes of the posting of the registration form. I received the 46 yesterday, along with a note saying the 55 would be shipped later (no date). At least they shipped the one they had. Of course, at this point I don't need either one. The box for the 46 says 'made in Germany', the filter itself says 'Germany', but the paperwork for customs says the origin is 'Japan'. Not that it matters, but I wonder what exactly it is. It looks just like the B+W.

Size E60 set for delivery to Leica Germany during week 20.

Who knows when any filters will go out to individual M8 owners. Leica won't confirm that they plan to ship according to ones M8 registration date or not.

(Take some deep breaths...)

How do they decide who gets the filters in what order? There is no sense to their method. Not how the US companies deal with this sort of thing. It's very disappointing.

It seems they wait until they have all the filters you have ordered in stock before they send any out.

Someone just posted that they got there filter and they registered in Febuary. I registered in January and still don't have mine. I ordered a 39 and a 55. Supposedly the 55's are not in there stock yet so they didn't send mine out yet.

The thing that PISSES me off is that B&H is SELLING Leica 39mm UV/IR cut filters.

Why doesn't Leica send out my 39mm filter. I could use that filter TODAY. NOT when LEICA FEELS LIKE SENDING THEM.

THIS IS RIDICULOUS.

YES I AM PISSED OFF.

And I have email Laice M8 support saying the same thing.

Ed, exactly! I bought my M8 in early November, registered and ordered filters (39 and 46mm--the most popular) on December 6, and have received nothing. Leica should have devised a priority waiting list based on sequence of request rather than random distribution. I'm reminded of my visits to the old Eastern Bloc countries...
