How to time shutter lag

I'm looking for a high-speed analog timer that allows one to shoot pictures to accurately determine shutter lag. There was an old one online that was perfect--an analog face on the computer screen that timed two seconds per revolution, so one could anticipate the sweeping hand coming up on the 12 o'clock position, trip the shutter at that point, and have the image show the time it was actually recorded.

Someone on a Leica forum gave me a link to this timer a while back, but I've suffered a computer virus and lost the link when I had to reconfigure my computer. Any help in finding this timer, or a similar one is greatly appreciated.

My objective is to find a timer so I can time shutter lag on various digital cameras, which don't have the instant response of a Leica M.

Another person on this forum kindly provided a link to such a timer in the past, but perhaps he/she is not reading the forum now.

Triggertrap https://triggertrap.com/ has a free iPhone and Droid app that will time shutter lag on Canons, Nikons and some other cameras. It is called "Lag-o-meter" . You have to dig around in the settings section of the app, under Shutter, then next to the Shutter Lag slider is a small clock icon which, when touched, opens up the Lag-o-meter.

You need to have the Triggertrap dongle ($20 or so) to connect the iPhone to your camera. You point the camera at the app and the app triggers your camera and simultaneously starts a timer. The camera, of course, takes a picture of the Lag-o-meter and you have shutter lag.

I've used it on my Canon DSLR's. It seems to work fine.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with an online version.

Thanks very much, those are both very clever ideas. I'm going to continue searching a while longer for the one I used before, a downloadable analog timer with a two-second sweep, which I really liked. If I can't find it, I will try your great suggestions.
