"With Capture One PRO, photographers can load RAW files from digital cameras or shoot tethered directly into the computer. The software supports high-quality image capture, editing and enhancement. It also supports on-the-fly conversion of RAW files. More information about Capture One."

Jan, the M8 shipped with C1 LE. The M8 does support tethered shooting (though it uses the camera's battery power instead of powering from the usb cable).

I have not done this, yet, but am using C1 for processing my DNG's. I believe that the tethered operation of the M8 is handled by Leica Capture software that also ships with the camera.

Bill is correct. You can shoot tethered using the camera's shutter release or a button in the software. Files are stored directly on your computer. You can access the menu items in the "Set" button menu from the computer and you cane controll the file naming and their location. Store DNG and or Jpegs as pr you config. Thats about it.

I presume that C-1 Pro will allow you to shoot tethered directly into C-1 using the M8. There is nothing on the Phase One site that says it won't work. There wouldn't be much point for them to offer an upgrade if it doesnt't support this feature.

But there may be a way you can do this by using the Leica tethered software and C-1 LE simultaneously. Just make sure both software programs are looking at the same directory where the Leica software stores the tethered images. In C-1's preference setup you can tell it to automatically refresh the preview every time a new image arrives in that folder. So you'll be using the Leica software to tether the camera and bring in the images into the computer but you will use C-1 to view and adjust them.

Many Canon users did this very thing when a new Canon camera came out that didn't yet have tethered support in C-1. They used Canon remote capture and C-1 together.
