CS 6 crashes

My CS6 suddenly developed a " spinning ball syndrome". I tried just about anything now from cleaning up my hard disks, repairing permissions, uninstalling CS6 completely and reinstalling, deleting the fonts folder, etc.

The fault persists: I open an image through ACR, crop, and on the next click I get a spinning ball and have to force-quit....

Anybody any ideas please?

Hi Jaap,

I don't know, but please let me ask questions.

Have you tried CS5?

Could there be a faulty component, like a memory chip, if only intermittently?

If all else fails, have an Apple genius run a disgnostic check on the machine.

Good luck getting it working again.

Something like this happened to me with CS6 once. It was happening in crop mode and was caused because I thought I was trying to crop in pixels, but I had the. crop settings box set in inches. CS6 was trying to re size the image to 3000 x 2000 inches and it was just smoking the system.

Also, try to reset PRAM. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379

In the end it turned out to be a conflict between CS6 and Iridient raw Developer. The Adobe installer uninstalled CS6 (after deactivating), which also uninstalled Raw Developer. I then removed the resulting orphaned files with Disk Warrior and reinstalled CS 6. Problem solved.
