epson 4900 power clean

Recommended Posts

The power clean is only for last resort; normal head cleanings should suffice, particularly if one regularly runs the printer and does nozzle checks. In any case, the cartridges are 200ml, not 220. And one needs to also account for replacing the maintenance tanks (the 4900 has two), as these fill when running cleanings.

For a much broader assessment of ink usage, see the section titled Printer Economics 101 in the linked article.

I own the 3800, but lots of info is readily accessible by search.

any good guesses on how much ml of ink is used in a regular cleaning on epson 4900?

initial ink charging i know is about 25-30ml per cart.

wasnt sure about regular and power clean consumption per cart.

Remember that the initial charging does not "use" all that ink. It is filling the tubes to the printing heads so most of it will eventually used in printing your pictures. It only shows as used because the sensors are in the cartridge.

Try reading the link I already provided and you'll know why I can determine that for my 3800, but you can't for the 4900. But you shouldn't even need to do many cleanings if you follow the advice already given, and also mentioned in the same article.
