dannirr Posted March 29, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted March 29, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Looking through picturs taken recently in the Namib with the TE, I noticed errors in the EXIF data. Pictures shot in sequence, just minutes apart, show some with correct lens data, and soem with no lens data. The no data picturs were usually, but not always verticals. The lens was coded by Leica NJ. Â Any ideas? Any others with similar? Â Thanks, Â Danni

tashley Posted March 30, 2007 Share #3  Posted March 30, 2007 No-one else seen this? Danni   Jono Slack and I shot together today and using his 28-35-50 TE on four bodies, two from November abd two from this month, we found that the correct EXIF was shown for all focal lengths on the two new bodies but not on the old.  We were in a bit of a hurry so I would like to ask him to re-run the test to be 100% certain that the correct framelines are triggered at each length on the old body, because I noticed that it is possible to trun the lens to 50 without quite snugging it into the click stop, thereby shooting at 50mm but with the 35mm lines still showing.  But in any event, focal length was always recorded to EXIF even if not correctly on the older bodies.  Best  Tim
danielt Posted March 30, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted March 30, 2007 I am using TE 28-35-50 1st version coded from mid december, and the exit data always has been correct
ho_co Posted March 30, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted March 30, 2007 Danni-- You might check the TE's frame adjustment lever. It's a finicky part (in the sense that no other Leica lens comes with instructions to clean and oil it occasionally) and may have been sullied by the sand. (You would likely have noticed the effects of that, though, so it's probably something else.) Â --HC
robsteve Posted March 30, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted March 30, 2007 Were you shooting these handheld or on a tripod? I am just wondering if you may be nudging the frame preview lever with your hand or with something on the tripod.
