Obviously, that's a matter of taste. Because I, for one, like the 75 mm framelines better than most others—especially better than the 90 mm framelines. Somehow it has become fashionable to complain about the 75 framelines while in fact they are very nice. In particular, I like the way how the frame's corners are clearly marked. Just get used to them for a while and then you'll see ... ;)

Regarding the exactness of the 75 M9 frames, 01af, I am beyond fashion :-)

When working at infinity, it's difficult to know what is going to be included, because much more goes in. Having to check at the screen is not always possible, and often the take is unique, unwiederbringlich.

This un-exactness is ok if you approach framing as was done in the past when using 6x6: much more was sistematically included, because they counted on cropping.

At 1-2 m, when in close up, they are more exact, that's right.;)

Regards,

Manolo

Thanks a lot for all the inspiration and suggestions, seems like a lot of you think that the 75 summarit would be a great choice.

I will look more into that one, since 90 might be a too big jump from 35, and 50 might just be too close enough.

Strange how Bill and Manolo feel obliged to comment on the 75 framelines' exactness as a reaction to my post ...

I didn't say anything about exactness. In this particular regard, the 75 framelines are no better or worse than the others. At or near infinity, you'll get more than what's in the viewfinder's frame; at some medium distance (1 m or 2 m, depending on the camera), the framelines will be accurate; at minimum distance, you'll get somewhat less. Same as it ever was.

Heya! Got a 35 mm summarit lens, that is my all-round everyday lense, and I really like it. But I would liek to spice some things up and get a second lense.

I mainly shoot street photograph.

I have been thinking of the 90 mm elmarit for more portrait shots.

Give some ideas and suggestions!

You might find 90mm is the most popular focal length other than 35mm. And the most popular 90mm is f2.8, not f2.0, unlike 35mm or 50mm.

But if you have the new M (240), I'd recommend R 70-180mm f2.8. -- if you can live with the EVF.
