Gibbo Posted February 17, 2013 Share #1 Â Posted February 17, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Amongst my father's old camera stuff I have found this Soligor f4 105mm lens. Â Is it likely to be worth keeping or is it a pup?
Advertisement Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Hi Gibbo, Take a look here Soligor Telephoto lens.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted February 17, 2013 Share #2 Â Posted February 17, 2013 Any old lens is worth having a bit of experimental fun with. Soligor never was a first rate lens maker, but the products were decent enough. I guess it is not worth it to sell.

LucisPictor Posted February 17, 2013 Share #4 Â Posted February 17, 2013 I guess it is not worth it to sell. Â That's the point. You won't get an apple for it. But it can be fun to play with.

algrove Posted February 17, 2013 Share #6 Â Posted February 17, 2013 Hey, post some images if you deem them acceptable to show. That name Soligor goes way back in my memory.
SJP Posted February 17, 2013 Share #7 Â Posted February 17, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) My first SLR was a Soligor with P-thread mount. Pretty decent actually as a learning tool and admittedly the (also 2nd hand of course) lenses were not expensive. Stop down light measurement & seeing the DoF while at it was very useful. I was happy enough & then I bought an FM2. That still is quite a camera by any standards, even though it has more mirror slap than a F3. I love the full mechanical workings of the FM2. Â Anyway back to Leica:D That is a totally different dimension. Anyone that doesn't get it, doesn't get it.
Rick Posted February 18, 2013 Share #8 Â Posted February 18, 2013 At one point Soligor and and Vivitar shared most of the same lens line. I just remember the same Soligor lens branded as a Vivitar sold for less in the 70's.
