Robert Wright, Boredom, Sex, Sailors, & Babies

It's three months and waiting since I pre-paid for my M8 and gave up all signs of life to live in this forum. The truth is it's getting pretty damn boring around here, which is a good sign. There was a time it seemed an exciting full time job here keeping up with the M8 design faults, inanities, and cock-ups [exciting because I don't seem to have a life, remember?]. But as the sun swings higher in the Northern Hemisphere, people seem to be getting out to warm their cockles, make photographs, and actually get enjoyment from using their camera. As M8 functionality improves it is my hope as an early purchaser/late adopter that when my camera does finally arrive the damn thing actually works properly as a, well; ..........camera.

Boredom and long-windedness has infiltrated my lurking here. I notice that some posters have resorted to cheap tricks to catch our fickle attention by e.g. slipping Sex into their Post Title, or disguising posts about baby pictures, and most heinous of all; alluding to furtiveness amongst sailors. I refuse to stoop to such low life trickery.

What the hell has any of this got to do with Robert Wright? Well being a bored inattentive sort I mistakenly thought that Robert had nominated me for a highly prestigious award [actually it was Woody Campbell - thank you Woody] and whilst preparing my tear ducts and acceptance speech decided to check out Robert Wright's web-site.

Robert [you will know the quote I'm sure]; 'you got eyes'. People, if you love good, intelligently made photographs that are not beholding to photographic pictorialism go and spend some quality time with Robert's work, you will be well rewarded. I will keep an eye on the shop while you are there and let you all know if an M8 calamity comes in. Go on, off you go:

Having done my deed for the day I'm bored again. Come on Leica, where's by damned camera and lens?

Chris, I know of at least one dealer in Boston who has a black M8 available. There are also other reports here of M8 availability.

Do you have a baseball bat? Have you been to visit your dealer. Surely, he can call the rep and get an M8 transfered to the dealership for you!

Otherwise, I agree with your stance. But give the dealer hell.

Regards,

Bill - Thank you, and Guy too. I'm in the UK and actually have a good relationship with my dealer who is leaning on Leica UK for supplies. It was always my hope to receive a post trauma camera, it's just that I'm now getting itchy feet. I'll stick with my long term dealer relationship, the financing deal I got was fantastic.

Hope you get good 'hits' Robert. The work deserves it.
