ridha Posted February 13, 2013 Share #1 Posted February 13, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello I've just bought a M3 and this is my first Leica. Could anyone share how to use the film ASA 800 or higher, since maximum ASA setting in this camera is only 200? Many thanks in advance ridha

Jaybob Posted February 13, 2013 Share #2 Posted February 13, 2013 That disc on the back is just a reminder. It doesn't actually set anything. You may want to get an external meter. If I needed one, I'd get this. This may also help.
250swb Posted February 13, 2013 Share #3 Posted February 13, 2013 Hello I've just bought a M3 and this is my first Leica. Could anyone share how to use the film ASA 800 or higher, since maximum ASA setting in this camera is only 200? Ignore it, it is a completely manual camera, with no settings other than those you choose to use for aperture or speed. Set the dial to anything close to your chosen ISO/ASA speed under normal circumstances simply to stop you forgetting what it is. Remember most people didn't use cameras as frequently as they do today, so a reminder of the film speed was necessary if they had last years summer holiday at the start of the film and this years summer holiday on the end. spydrxx Posted February 15, 2013 Share #4 Posted February 15, 2013 Hi Rida - One thing I always suggest to new users is that they get a copy of the instruction manual if one didn't come with their camera, it will answer many questions you may have about its features and usage.
