jimofnyc Posted February 12, 2013 Share #1  Posted February 12, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Maybe not a street portrait but it is my neighborhood in NYC. I love my neighborhood. I have convenience stores, Sushi, Indian, Chinese, Italian and even Ethiopian restaurants right across the street. How about a boulangerie? Or a wonderful grocery? They're all within a quick walk. The dry cleaner is in the same block too. So are bus and subway stops to any other part of town. To me it is heaven. Jim Welcome, dear visitor! jimofnyc Posted February 16, 2013 Author Share #9 Â Posted February 16, 2013 Thanks to everyone for the inquisitive and kind comments regarding my 'street' photo. I realize that resizing pictures down to 960 pixels on the longest dimension takes so much away from the story that this type of picture tries to tell. When I was 18 I worked in a camera shop and bought a used Hasselblad. The detail in my pictures was fantastic. I find the same satisfaction in my Leica frames and it is frustrating to see all that disappear in resizing. I like landscapes that one can go over with a magnifying glass to find little surprises.... and Ben: I don't know where that butcher shop or carnicerÃa is or was. That shop may have become a beauty parlor that was then replaced by a bike shop and is now a pizza parlor...
