I'm there with the normal and long (50 Summicron and 90 Elmarit), but trying to decide on a compact and reasonably-priced wide. How do the 35 Summicron and 35 Elmarit compare in IQ?

 

Often Summicrons are better than Elmarits, especially if they are later models. Have you checked out E. puts comments on each lens you are looking at? He gives very good descriptions and comment.

In Leica Chronicle, E. Puts commented that Elmarit offer excellent performance and might be preferred over early Summicrons. Later Summicrons are better.
