Dopaco Posted January 19, 2013 Author Share #2 Posted January 19, 2013 I am an owner of V-lux1. I have many doubts, if V-lux4 or FZ200, it would be good sustitutas. Sensor V-lux1 = 1/1,8. Sensor V-lux4 and FZ200 = 1/2,3. It helps
stuny Posted January 20, 2013 Share #3 Posted January 20, 2013 Having extensively used the Panasonic equivalent of the V Lux 1, the Leica versions of the V Lux 2 and the V Lux 4 I can tell you with no doubt the V Lux 4 and FZ 200 (virtually the same cameras) are superior to the V Lux 1 in every way except one: the V Lux 1 has a manual zoom, which is a fast and precise way to zoom. However, with the latest incarnation, the power zoom is amazingly fast.
Dopaco Posted January 20, 2013 Author Share #4 Posted January 20, 2013 @stuny. With good light ... which of the 3 would give better quality of image?. V-lux1 has the major sensor..
stuny Posted January 22, 2013 Share #5 Posted January 22, 2013 Here are three images in good light that I took with the immediate Panasonic predecessor to the V Lux 1, using the same sensor, software and lens as the V Lux 1. The V Lux 2 was its equal in good light, but not quite as good in low light. In low light it was inferior to my Digilux 2. The V Lux 4 is probably at least the V Lux 1’s equal in good light, and considerably better in low light – there are six or seven years of new developments in digital photography between the two, so that comes as no surprise to me. I’ve not used the D Lux 4, but I do have a D Lux 5, which performs remarkably well in good and bad light. Welcome, dear visitor! math-geek Posted February 6, 2013 Share #7 Posted February 6, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I think that the V-LUX 1 would be a great complement to either of the smaller cameras! It is a really nice camera for outdoor, full light photography. I owned the V-1 and loved it for taking geologic pictures (I am a geologist).
