Torquinian Posted January 13, 2013 Share #1 Posted January 13, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I bought an R3 on E-bay, described as "used only a few times, and works like new". However whilst the manual speed settings seem to work ok, on automatic aperture priority, they are wildly inaccurate, changing from shot to shot in constant lighting. The seller lives in Budapest and doesn't want it back. Has anyone else met this and is it repairable? My local repair man says it needs a new shutter and Leica do not supply the part. Advertisement Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Hi Torquinian, Take a look here R3 problem. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
k_g_wolf ✝ Posted January 13, 2013 Share #2 Posted January 13, 2013 Never buy from sellers located behind the iron curtain ... Use it as it is or write it off. Money should rather be invested in another camera (RE, R5, R7, R8+). Best GEORG
earleygallery Posted January 13, 2013 Share #3 Posted January 13, 2013 Sounds like a dishonest seller off-loading faulty gear by pleading ignorance! If you paid by paypal you can raise a dispute as the goods were not as described. Otherwise, keep the camera and use it in manual mode - does the meter work correctly? It won't be economical to repair.
