Is this a campaign? PMs from a number of unnamed sources, pressure in the forums :eek: If all is to believed, I'd never have to buy sliced bread again, and the market will be flooded with low image-IQ S2 cameras...:D:D

Just wait until we deluge you with photos from the first deliveries

You have to remember that some of us got many years of trouble free use out of our DMR. A couple years agonwhen you asked about this the DMR was already over five years old and any sane camera representative would not suggest a purchase of such old technology.

Rob,

I do not deny that, I just came to the Digital Party very late in the game. I was still shooting film in 4" X 5", Medium Format 6 x & and Leica Rs until 2008 when I started shooting both film with Point and shoot digital cameras. In 2009 I purchased the Lumix G1. So, for me with an interim of lesser quality digital cameras that is where things sit/sat for me. And for now I have a new Fujifillm X-E1 and await and ponder the purchase of a Leica M.

My DMR has started producing a ticking sound from time to time, which even goes one for a while after being switched off. Has anybody else had this strange phenomena?

Hello,

My R8/DMR is also ticking occasionally, I dont know why. The clock is also going slow.

Occasionally the system is hanging, but works again after taking off the accu and putting it back.

I take photos only in Raw format because quite often the color temperature of the pictures changes during a photosession without reason.

Otherwise the Camera is working like a swiss watch. I bought a second R8 case, just in case the camera is not working anymore. I hope there will be no failure on the DMR.

The R8/DMR combination is my favorite for macro photos because it works fine with a METZ flash by using the TTL mode (correcting -2 on the flash)

best regards

Peter
