Canon printerdrivers - mountain Lion

Canon has not updated the provided software for some printers like the Selphy 810,( whichI use as a "polaroid" solution), so they won't install in Mountain Lion. Unless you use this little trick:

 

On the CD find the box-like icon for the printer installer (.mpkg file), drag to you desktop.

Right-click and choose "show contents"

 

Find (probably in the folder "drivers") and Right click "distribution.dist" and open with Textedit.

 

Remove the mess in "installationCheck ()" to make it read like this:

 

function installationCheck() {

return true;

}

 

hit CMD-S to save.

 

Double-click icon containing the modified file and it should install.

 

It worked for me.
