Jeremiek Posted December 5, 2012 Share #1  Posted December 5, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Folks,  I'm kind of fed up to lose my lens cap for the 35mm summilux, this soft plastic thing that costs no less than £22, €30, $35... I've once heard of a retailer in London selling imitations of the said hood; for a third of the price. But I can't find the retailer anymore.  Anyone as any clue about smuggling of cheap lens caps somewehre?

pnoble Posted December 5, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted December 5, 2012 I think Leica depends on people having to purchase lens cap replacements. Why else would they engineer them so they fall off so easily? They have the only lens line with a nice recurring revenue stream!

Fotofanatiker Posted December 5, 2012 Share #5 Â Posted December 5, 2012 I cannot count how many times I've lost these stupid things (35 & 24 summilux), in the car, on the plain, in the train, in tiny villages at the end of the world - but somehow I was always able to find the caps again (under the seat, in the corridor, on the sidewalk...).
