blovitch Posted March 20, 2007 Share #1 Posted March 20, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) This is my Third M8... Running the latest Firmware. This line appears in almost all of the shots.... ISO does not seem to affect the position or intensity. Its in the same place on every shot. Any ideas ? CHeers. -Tim Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Hi blovitch, Take a look here Black Line Dead Pixels.... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Guest sirvine Posted March 20, 2007 Share #2 Posted March 20, 2007 Is it in the center?
Venkman Posted March 20, 2007 Share #3 Posted March 20, 2007 You wrote it in the topic - dead pixels. I have similar "problem" and customer service told me it's a dead pixel row. You might want to contact them via email and send the shots as well. They usualy reply within 3 days. Dirk
zonevt Posted March 20, 2007 Share #4 Posted March 20, 2007 I had this happen twice now, once with a digital camera of another brand and it was a bad pixel and again with an LCD television.....a line running from top to bottom on the screen always in the same place also a defective pixel problem. blovitch Posted March 20, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted March 20, 2007 The line is just to the right of centre. It is visible in around 90% of the files. When the line falls on skin tones as with a tightly framed portrait it is really visible, like a dead straight hair across the face. To say I am annoyed is a slight understatement.... It looks like number 3 is on its way back to Solms. I wonder if my free filters will turn up before I managed to get an M8 that works
arminw Posted March 20, 2007 Share #6 Posted March 20, 2007 I am so sorry to hear about your trouble ... what a bore it is ! I can understand you are P*@& off by all that. Don't give up, once the M8 is working it's working marvelously

mhleo Posted March 21, 2007 Share #8 Posted March 21, 2007 Hi! I have experienced the same problem, except that the black line was on the left side, when my M8 came back from Solms after the December firmware update. Went back to Solm and every thing is fine now, even after the latest update. so maybe these are not dead pixels after all. mhleo
Venkman Posted March 21, 2007 Share #9 Posted March 21, 2007 I posted examples in this thread: http://www.leica-camera-user.com/digital-forum/18123-strange-streak-dead-pixels-else.html And that is, according to Leica CS, dead pixels. (and a totally dirty sensor according to my expertise ) Dirk
