Jeffo, most of your images seem soft/out of focus. Especially the booze shot.

Hi James, since these are very old lens and I shoot them mostly wide open.  Most of these lenses tends to be soft with low contrast.  Perhaps that's the reason I like them.  If I step down then the images will be very sharp...than lost fun with these old lenses.

Modified Jupiter-8, RF coupled to 0.65m. Focal length reduced to maintain coupling from 0.65m to infinity. $40, inclusive of shipping.This lens wins the best of the cheap lenses that I own.

Gamma Tone curve added using custom FORTRAN code, Gamma 1.5, Intercept -0.67. The FORTRAN code generates and uses a 14-bit to 16-bit lookup table, avoids collisions. Output sets white to be 65535 and black to the minimum value found in the DNG. Exported to Jpeg using Lightroom. I put the lens on the camera, forgot to change the lens selection. Coded as a 28/2.8 Elmarit. Does not seem to make much difference.

 

I took some time off, try this again.

Canon 100/2, Wide-Open, 1/45th sec, ISO 10,000. Gamma curve added using custom software, maps to 16-bit values. No Noise reduction or Sharpening. I turn Sharpening off for most of my M Monochrom shots.
