The A&A look sweet but I cant tell if the come with a Tripod screw mount on the bottom........does anyone know if they do ?

Just bodge a hole in the case and get a longer screw for the tripod plate..... thats what I did. Too lazy to take the camera out of the case and it's much more secure anyway.....;)

Mine hasn't. If I wanted to use a tripod, I'd spend 5 seconds taking the case off.

I put my half case in my trouser pocket, when changing film.

I used to do the same with the camera bottom when I was changing film on my film Ms. I never could understand the 'what do I do with the baseplate when changing film, complaints about the camera design.

I have a Luigi half case for my MP. I find the leather slippery, to the point that it is difficult to shoot with the silver 50mm summilux ASPH (i.e., heavy lens). I recently started using the Leica hand grip.

I do like the Luigi case, but the smoothness of the leather makes it very tiring after a while (having to apply more pressure to keep it from falling off my hands).

Is the leather of an A&A half case similar?

I don't have a Luigi, but I have seen and handled examples owned by others.

The A&A case is thinner, much lighter and is very similar to the saddle leather used by Leica in their a la carte finishes. The fit is much better. It feels very nice in the hand and I use it whenever I don't have my winder fitted.
